Less Drive-thru’s In Mississauga?

Hopefully you will notice more homes and condos when driving through the city of Mississauga than you will cars lined up waiting for their combo with drink.  Mayor Hazel MacCallion wants to slow down the development of drive-thru fast food restaurants.  Not only do the idling cars hurt the environment but the buildings become a safety hazard when pedestrians have to cross the drive-thru in order to enter the restaurant.

A New High For Etobicoke

A recent report puts 2007 as the highest resale of homes/condos in the GTA’s history.  December was a particularly great month.  A few reasons possibly being the new land tax to kick into gear in the new year, and the fact that condos typically show better and appeal more to the masses in the winter months.  Whatever the case, Etobicoke was one city that benefited with a overall transaction increase of 57%.

Toronto’s Effort To Go Green

Many of the new luxurious condominium towers going up throughout Toronto have made a concerted effort to be ecologically friendly.  However they aren’t the only ones.  Toronto’s community housing is also make a notable effort in making their social housing buildings environmentalyl safe.  Low flush toilets, energy efficient appliances and compact fluorescent light bulbs in every socket are a few ways they have contributed.

Looking for a Bridge Home

If you are one of the many waiting for building completion of your new home or condo you may find yourself in the market for what is termed a “bridge home.”  This type of residence is often used for a short time after the sale of your previous home and while waiting for the move in date of your new home.  Experts suggest you allow more time for the completion of the new house/condo because many have found out the hard way that the construction often goes on much longer than anticipated.  For those in the market it is important they know bridge homes exist and they can make your life so much easier.
