Kingston area senior citizens are being warned not to fall for the newest type of real estate scams.  In fact, seniors and all community members are being warned of the boiler room scam.  The newest type of scam first involves a phone call which then subsequently leads to extreme high pressure sales that need immediate action.  Unfortunately, like many types of scams senior citizens are often the first target.  Con artists target the seniors with an “unbelievable opportunity” in real estate and convince them they cannot miss out.

A Little Help From Reality TV

A very popular reality television series called Property Virgins recently helped a young Toronto couple buy their first home.  For most of us, buying our first home can be scary and many of us wouldn’t mind some honest advice and even a little handholding along the way.  Which is exactly what the TV show offers?  The couple admit that if it wasn’t for the help of the host they likely would have ended up signing a lease to rent for a few more years because they were to nervous to take the plunge on their own.
