Residents Fear Big Changes In Georgetown
A few builders have their eyesight set on development in Georgetown, primarily along the lake front. Georgetown’s city council and many of its residences are concerned with the development proposal potential and the fear of fast growth in the community and the negative aspects it can bring. The fear poses that when such fast growth takes place is a community like Georgetown it will lose its small town community feel. With rapid construction and a big population boost the integrity of the community can be forgotten. Two of the proposals include a population increase of roughly twenty thousand while another two include growths of nearly forty thousand people. Many city officials from Georgetown want to see some growth take shape in their town but they want the growth to happen at a slower controlled pace.
