Green Condo Revolution
A number of architects and developers are looking to buck the trend and design new condominium buildings with a fresh look and innovative design. Although the tall towers with the glass walls sold well many want to see other designs that blend in more with the surroundings. An increasingly popular trend in the Downtown Toronto Condominium market is going green. Developers are recognizing buyers wish to protect their environment and want to help with the efforts. They are realizing eco-friendly is the future and more and more buyers are looking for it. Going green means new construction standards before building begins. Once built being green means using high efficiency heating and cooling systems and equipping the condos with high efficiency appliances. Condo projects can be deemed LEED certified which means they are environmentally friendly buildings once they qualify in all eight stages.
