The area of Cabbagetown in the city of Toronto got its name from the Irish immigrants who use to grow cabbage on their front lawns to make money for food. Cabbagetown today is filled with many different cultures and is a popular neighbourhood for families young and old. The residents are proud and the community is vibrant. The majority of homes in the Cabbagetown Real Estate area are old stately Victorian homes which are lovingly restored to their natural beauty by homeowners. The Cabbagetown Preservation Association keeps a watchful eye on home renovations to ensure the new designs retain the historical charm. If living in Cabbagetown you also have the beautiful Riverdale Park at your doorstep.
