The sale of exsisting homes in the month of April was down by seven percent compared to figures from the same time last year. The city of Brampton wants to offer its new residents a jump start in a good direction. Under a new government program called the Newcomer Settlement Program (NSP) people just moving in to a new city will be guided in adjusting to their new community and starting the new life. Brampton’s new residents will have access to job finding workshops, access to skills training and more.

Researchers there took in several different factors such as employment rate, air quality, crime statistics, household incomes and weather to help them decide which city was the best to live in Canada. Out of 154 different cities country wide Mississauga ranked 11th.
