Markington Square Make-Over?

 Scarborough residents have divided opinions on the proposed changes recently put forward by RioCan to redevelop Markington Square into a mixture of new apartment building combined with over twenty thousand square feet of retail space.  Many residents feel this would add to the burden the community already experiences with overpopulation in schools.  Other resident are not opposed to the idea because the current Markington Square is in need of a face lift and it would bring about positive change for the plaza.

No Stopping First Time Buyers

Despite the high price tag for some homes in Toronto and the greater Toronto Area, first time buyers are still taking the leap into home ownership.  The high foreclosure rate in the United States still hasn’t deterred many in Canada.  However, with the increasing costs of homes, these owners may have to change their preferences.  For some, this means moving outside of Toronto, like Scarborough and moving in to a condominium instead of a semi or detached home.

Who Should Take Responsibility?

When you are about to make an offer on your dream home wouldn’t you like to know if that home has even been used as a grow-op before?  Of course!  The question is whose responsibility is it to notify you if it has been used for a marijuana operation?  Many believe real estate agents should be aware of the obvious indicators in a home for purchase and should notify prospective buyers of the possibility.
