By Rob Parker at 12:33 pm on November 27, 2008 | No comments

Buying Oshawa Homes means getting the benefits of big city life without the high price tag of real estate and congestion of so many people in one small area. The Oshawa area offers plenty of shopping, recreational facilities, parkland and green spaces and fine educational institutions. Owning Oshawa Real Estate also puts you close to Lake Ontario and the Kawartha region resort and tourist area. Many home buyers are attracted to Oshawa because homes are roughly forty percent less for comparable homes in the city of Toronto. In the centre of Oshawa you will find older homes that have beautifully restored and outlining the edge of the city you will find newer subdivisions with low density single family homes.

Small rural Ontario towns are known for having a lot of charm. One of these communities can be found just north of Whitby by the name of Brooklin. The town is known for offering the quaint small town charm while having the added bonus of being near to a large urban centre. Plenty of forestry surrounds valleys and acres of farmland. The town has plenty of playgrounds for the children to play and families can spend their afternoons along the numerous wildlife and nature trails. Plenty of people are looking at Brooklin to put down roots which is proven by nearly all the townhomes being constructed in one area are already sold.

Change Needed In Brooklin Ontario

By Rob Parker at 7:35 am on April 17, 2008 | No comments

Residents in one neighbourhood in Brooklin Ontario are fighting to keep their privacy and sunshine.  A developer has plans to build new homes in the subdivision and home owners that would back on to the new home are concerned by the lack of privacy they will have since the new homes would be taller.  Due to drainage issues the elevation of the new homes has to be changed therefore making the homes sit higher up than originally planned.  Current residents do not like the idea of the new neighbours having a clear sight into their backyards or by the shadow the home will create on their own yard.
